Chinese New Year Celebration at MCH - The Year of the Rat

This is how we celebrated Chinese New Year’s at Montessori Children’s House.  The children sang songs, made lanterns during Chinese Class, paraded around the classes inside the school, and practiced using chopsticks.  They discussed Chinese New Year’s customs in class with Fei.  All the children wore red or Chinese costumes. They also ate dumplings and desserts.  The teachers distributed candy for Preschool and for First Graders, Troy distributed real Chinese money for good luck!  The Junior Class celebrated by doing presentations about Chinese New Year and making dumplings during class. They also  played some Chinese games.

Fei would like to thank Eileen Caccia and Lelia Guittari for helping out with the celebration.
